SIB was established in 1965. We are a large commercial insurance broker based in the Northwest, placing the insurance requirements of commercial, industrial, agricultural and professional companies across the composite and Lloyd’s insurance markets.

We place great emphasis on developing and maintaining excellent client relationships, and both educating and assisting clients in the importance of risk management and the effect it can have on premiums and claims. We offer a suite of risk management solutions including health and safety support, Fire Risk Assessments, rebuilding cost surveys and many other facilities.

Immense prominence is placed on developing and maintaining excellent relationships with insurance underwriters to obtain the most competitive premium and selecting insurers with proven financial stability and of sound reputation.

We recognise the need to continue to strive for professional excellence and to do this, and take SIB to another level, we became part of the Ardonagh Group in April 2024. This allows us to be part of one of the largest Insurance Brokers in the UK, which provides us with wider markets, greater facilities and still allows us to remain completely customer focused. It gives us a greater presence in the insurance market and allows us to tap into exclusive schemes, niche products and provide the very widest policy wordings available in the marketplace.
